Travels & Authors
FOOD & RESTAURANTS
Buffalo Creek presents a TRAVELS & AUTHORS blog. Through the pages, I share my love of the South and all things Virginia as I travel through the Commonwealth. You will find recommendations of hotels, food (not only restaurants and coffee shops but family recipes), and more.
Guest articles will be about travel and foods, memories, books they have written, or interviews. Like I said in the South Carolina Voyager interview, "Everyone has a story. Every story matters." With my website design business, I help people tell their stories. So I am grateful for all my guest writers that are willing to share. I love a good story!
I grew up in Roanoke, lived in the Blue Ridge Mountains and the east coast of Virginia. Moved to Florida and lived in Tallahassee for nine years. One of my jobs required me to travel the state of Florida visiting resorts and restaurants. Now I am back in Virginia and love traveling the state staying in great hotels and eating fantastic foods.
I once drove from Florida to Hope, Maine in two days. What I remember from that trip is the sound of the loons on the lake at night, the Red's Eats lobster roll in Wiscasset, and a great recipe for fresh scallops from my friend's mom in Hope, Maine. It's in the details, meeting the people, and never losing that sense of wonder that the best memories are created.
Wonder is "a feeling of surprise mingled with admiration, caused by something beautiful, unexpected, unfamiliar, or inexplicable".
