Basic Bread recipe


1 1/4 cup warm water

1 pack or a 1 Tbls of instant yeast

Sprinkle of sucanat (1 tsp sugar)

Mix. Set aside for 5 minutes. (until bubbly)


3 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose or bread flour (King Arthur is what I use.)

1 tsp Himalayan salt

Mix.

1/8 to 1/4 cup oil

Add yeast mixture.

Mix.


Knead for a couple minutes. Set aside in bowl covered by a towel for 1 hour.

Knead again and set in greased warmed bread pan.

Rise for 30 minutes.

Put in 400 degree oven and turn down to 350.

Bake for 28 minutes.


Sometimes I coat the top with butter and honey. Let sit for at least 15 minutes before you cut it.



Casi when she was 3 years old, teaching how to knead bread in the old farmhouse that my grandaddy was born in.
